We are a team of experts in finance and technology. We believe in a new and modern way to bank, built for today’s needs and fully equipped for the future. One that provides agile and accessible financial products and services while driving innovation, economic growth, and talent development. Between 1995 and 2020, the number of banking institutions in Puerto Rico dropped from 21 to 5, leaving 3.2 million people living in Puerto Rico with a disproportionately small number of financial institutions. With this in mind, we decided to create new financial solutions that propel Puerto Rico’s economic growth. This guided us to apply for a banking license from local and federal regulators in December 2022. This was the first application for a new bank on the island in over 20 years. In August 2023, we became Puerto Rico’s first digital bank member of the Federal Reserve System and insured by the FDIC. We are regulated and supervised by the Federal Reserve, which helps ensure our compliance with federal banking regulations and contributes to the stability and security of the financial system.
